In this day and age, there isn’t time to mess around, if you need marketing or press support, you need it to be underway as quickly as possible. It would also be handy if one person could cover both the press and the marketing as the two run hand in hand.

Purple Marketing was set up to fill in when organisations are between staff, or have a gap that needs filling but without going to the expense of employing new staff. In the last 7 years, this has expanded to providing marketing and press support to festivals and events as well as research projects and audience development.

With over 15 years experience organising the press and marketing for a variety of companies from theatres, tours and festivals to children’s and youth theatre, Purple Marketing can offer a wide range of experience in the varying needs of different companies. This means that whether you need a strategy, a press release, a mail shot or a tour managed, we can quickly assess individual needs and start work immediately to support your work.

All aspects of marketing are covered from research and audience development to copy writing, proofing and campaign management. Prices depend on the work you need doing and the role that needs filling. I am as happy and effective organising print distribution and sending out a mailing as researching your audience and giving you an effective way forward.

Again, experience in both press and marketing makes Purple Marketing the natural choice for Tour Management, from writing the marketing and press pack to supporting tour venues and filling in skill or time gaps they might have.

Purple Marketing has a wide variety of press experience, most noteworthy is the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival, the largest event of its kind outside America. In the past 5 years coverage for the four day event and award (The Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year Award) has tripled to over £600,000 in 2009. Other campaigns have included, NYMAZ, Spotlites @ The Merchants’ Hall in Edinburgh and generated coverage for small businesses as well as managing press for national theatre tours.
